I'm In Heaven

So thanks to my friend formerly known as Blondy, I have the way coolest phone on the planet.

I now have the capability to swype my blogs! I was a little nervous giving up a real keyboard for a virtual one and I can't for the life of me remember why that would be. This thing is so smart, all I have to do is trace a pattern from letter to letter (not even very accurately) and it guesses what I was meaning to type.

BRILLIANT! Seriously, this is two steps below the coolness of having your own personal jet pack. It is crazy to think how technology has changed in my short lifetime. And if I don't feel like swyping, I can always just talk into my phone and it will type for me.

La sigh... I am in heaven, cause oooh heaven is place on earth.

Lovin' The Weekend

I had a super fantastic Saturday. I began my day with a workout that left me feeling fantastic. I ground up the last of my reindeer blend coffee beans and sat down with my Illinois Times and a big mug of steamy coffee.
I formulated a plan for my day which began at the antique mall. I found lots of fabulous little treasures, but no artwork. I had hoped to finally find something to hang on my bare office walls. I may have to go in search of another antique store tomorrow!

With my fabulous antiques all wrapped up I headed towards the office. I did a little phone shopping online and am so giddy to have purchased my very own phone and signed away my soul on my very first cell phone contract. Who thought this day would ever come? I may just grow up this year.

On my way home I stopped at the dollar store to check out the picture frames and ended up stocking up on all sorts of things including new baskets to organize my freezer. In case there was any doubt, I'm a dork and way too excited by my organized freezer!

Top off the night with a fridge full of good food, 48 Hours Mystery, and a little SNL and you've had a pretty fantastic Saturday.

Maybe I'll do something productive tomorrow like decorate for winter. I'm lovin' my weekend.

Very Exciting

It was a very exciting day at work hidden in a shroud of quiet and uneventfulness.

Despite the quiet around the office, something exciting is simmering. Change. I love change. I thrive on change. I get bored too easily without it and my mind wanders.

I'm more than thrilled to have begun training on a new traffic system today. I have high hopes that it will make everyone's lives easier and do my dishes for me too. And even better than an easy breezy new work mode is that I can actually feel my brain working. I swear. I absolutely love learning new things and I can't wait for more training.

I'm a dork, right?

No Place Like Home

I ventured out last weekend to audition for "Four Places" at the community theatre. I didn't have super-high hopes of landing a part because there were only three ladies parts available, but I've got the itch and had to give it a shot.

After putting in two hours at the audition and seeing the ages of the other ladies in attendance, my hopes were higher against my better judgement. I left feeling fantastic despite my lingering cold. The theatre was a breath of fresh air for a tired, dusty, artsy soul.

Then I stayed home sick the rest of the weekend and dreamed of being in another show. As Sunday and Monday faded away, so did my high hopes.

I learned that there is no theatre policy about any sort of cast list. You either get a call with a part or you're ignored and left wondering. Super classy. I'm in that latter group although it is safe to say the wondering is more along the lines of "Really? This is how we do things here?" And "Tell me again why I moved here?"

Anyhoo, after the blizzardy snow storm dumped at least four inches on us over the last day, I'm feelin' like there is no place like home. I'm going to hibernate out the rest of the month and then dust off my furr for another audition.

Catch Up

I've been sick, sick, sick.

I started getting sick about three days into my holiday vacation. I still managed to see lots of friends and family and have loads of fun as the sickies slowly crept in to stay.

With almost a full week back on the job, and seemingly getting sicker by the day, I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

I'm trying to get caught up at work and feeling quite a challenging time ahead. It would be fantastic if I could get better for the weekend. Here's hoping. I would like to be in tip top shape for an audition this weekend!
