Classy Bath

I just love the crisp white against the deep dark gray walls. The only pop of color in this room is from the getting ready ladies paintings my sister did for me.

It is a small, but classy bath. My naked lady black sculpture keeps watch over my bath to make sure it is so.

It is all packed away!

Sleepy Time Oasis

My favorite grey in the house is the grey in my bedroom. It's got that warm and cozy, snuggle in for the night feel. I may just have to repeat this color in future bedrooms.

The other great thing about my bedroom is the 60s bedroom set in the light blonde color. It really stands out against the dark walls.

And shortly after I moved to Springfield, I stumbled upon the two end tables at my favorite antique mall... Perhaps the first time I stopped in there! They compliment the bedroom set as nightstands perfectly and for $10 each, you can't go wrong! I picked up a couple low profile baskets to slide onto the bottom shelves. Better than drawers!

Two more sleeps in my sleepy time oasis!

Black and White and Coca Cola Red

I've been working on a Coca Cola kitchen for many years now. It actually all started twelve or thirteen years ago when I decided that I'd finally bring a black and white checkered theme to my kitchen and bring in the reds of Coca Cola.

At the time I worked for a catalog company where I was able to order the most spectacular stained glass Coca Cola  hanging lamp. It was the centerpiece of the kitchen and hasn't been used since I moved out of that house.

The next house of mine was built in the 60s and really lent itself to my retro themed blood. The lamp didn't have a place, but my Coca Cola collection had room to grow. I even finally got my black and white checkered floor I'd always dreamed of.

Moving to Springfield was a spacial challenge. I needed to stack the walls with shelves to accommodate my collection...and add a bit of function to the tiny space. I also really enjoyed the Coca Cola prints in place of a back splash. time around it would be handy to have more wall space...and a place to finally hang that stained glass lamp again!

Dinner Theatre

My dining room here became my theatre room. As if the chrome and red formica dining table weren't show stopping enough, I had to add dramatic red curtains.

The room also contains show posters, signs from previous shows, photographs and opening night gift trinkets on display. As well as my theatre books from college and all the scripts I've collected over the years.

And what theatre room would be complete without a bar? I have a lovely bar cart I found for a steal at a rummage sale for two dollars. And last, but not least, the 60s hutch I've turned into a makeshift bar. I found it at the Habitat for Humanity Restore here in Springfield for $45. That day I felt as if I'd won the lottery! I still do.

Cheers to my most favorite theatre room yet! I hope I never stop adding to my collection.

Livingroom Lovelies

Let's take a moment to appreciate my cute little house!

I heard once that women of my age are constantly nesting-that is improving their homes. For me this is one hundred percent accurate.

I still had plenty of improving to do, but I've put a hold on that for the time being. I just want to remember my cute little Springfield house for all times.

The living room really came together when I happened across my twin yellow sofas at an antique store in La Crosse. I can't imagine loving anything more. Except perhaps my newly reupholstered arm chair. And of course Peanut.

Moving Forward

I'm cleaning house and taking names!

I took a haul to the local resale establishment last week and got $15 on the books. With that in mind, I'm thinking there is more hiding away in drawers and cupboards and the basement that has dollar signs written all over it. I'm going to go through every darn nook and cranny and find them all.

I cleaned out my back basement storage room last night. It's amazing how quickly it goes once you roll up your sleeves and get right in there. I've got a lot of work to do, but nothing but time on my hands to get it done!

It's nice to have a goal to focus on other than what's for dinner. Especially considering I'm running out of Cooker Bee steam. I keep trying out a lemon poppy seed coconut flour pancake recipe and keep getting less than stellar results. It's bringing me down! I'm feeling it's time to bring back some old favorites, revamped for my current lifestyle. Hopefully this will yield more positive kitchen results as I move forward.
