Tradition
I pulled out my grandma's krumkake iron to cook up a little tradition on this Christmas afternoon.
The trick to making these delicate scrolls is to accept that you will scrape the first few off the pan as a complete loss. They always burn!
Then when the batter runs over onto the burner and starts smoking, crack a window, transfer the iron (WITH A POT HOLDER!) to a fresh burner and start over. Thank goodness for temperatures near 50° today!
