Fish in the Sea
The two of us used to have this saying that we were like two fish in the sea, going where the tides took us. It was those types of nights out where we found the most sparkly magic and loads of fun along the way. Maybe all the time in the ocean prepped us for the task of being two fish in the sea on this night out, because things were definitely working out for us in a magical way.
We headed out to Broadway at the Beach to find Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville restaurant and luckily my friend's eyes spied the sign from the parking lot. I dropped her off to head in to check on seating availability while I circled back and found a parking spot. By the time I joined her, she mentioned it would be a three and a half hour wait for a table, so I suggested we stop in at a fair trade store across from the restaurant first and I found a lovely piece of citrine that I had to pick up.
"Citrine is associated with positivity and optimism, which is not surprising given its cheerful color. It's often used to assist in manifesting financial abundance and opportunities. It can also be used to awaken the solar plexus chakra, helping to cultivate confidence and personal power." according to thespruce.com.
By the time we finished at the store, we decided to walk into the restaurant to see if there was any seating at the bar. We walked right up and found two seats at the end of the bar. The gentlemen sitting next to us, almost immediately struck up a conversation and I warned them that my friend could be quite chatty. They picked up our first drinks and we were off!
We ended up chatting with them up until they got their food, and then continued on until we got our food. We learned that Bob* was about 52, married with children, and about a foot taller than my friend! His younger companion, Dale*, was just in his early twenties. He was on leave from being stationed in Washington and would be shipping out to Korea soon. He had been friends with Bob's son and the two of them still get together when Dale is in the area. Dale also loves musical theatre! Bob was a smooth talker, continually trying to teach Dale how to pick up beautiful ladies like ourselves, but completely affable and humorous about it.
It wasn't too long into this magical evening that my friend brought up my Soul Journey (this is the name it was christened during the Myrtle Beach leg of my journey thanks to her). This idea seems to be intriguing to those we discussed it with. Clearly we had become fast friends, so when Bob mentioned there was a Dueling Pianos bar at Broadway at the Beach, it didn't take too much convincing to get the gentlemen to join us. And luckily, Bob knew the way to the next whiskey bar!
We rolled into Crocodile Rocks Dueling Piano Bar with just a $5 cover and found a place to stand in the back near the bar. Drinks in hand, we sang along to our favorite tunes and marveled that the four musicians had switched places at one point, picking up different instruments.
During our time together, I talked to Bob about how my friend made conversations happen wherever she went and I thought there was magic in making connections with people. I believe people come into our lives for a reason, even random people in a restaurant, or someone you meet in line at the convenience store and unless you actually talk to them, you would never know! This is definitely something I aspire to do better. And perhaps my friend was here on this part of my journey to help teach me that its magical when you do. Bob did reply to me "What's wrong with your vibe?" I mean... absolutely Bob, but I can always grow and aspire to be a better me, even with my own vibe!
The evening ended with hugs all around before we parted ways. I navigated us back around the circular boardwalk venue, most shops now closed up for the night, and found our parking spot by Margaritaville. We floated home on a swell of beautiful sea. Being two fish in the sea, going where the tide takes you, always seems to deliver the biggest rewards. I went to bed happy thinking, Thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you for meeting my every need today and every day. Thank you for providing all the resources - time, money, space, people, personal energy, health, that I need to do the things I'm called to do.
